Country Music Takes NBC’s Show Songland By Storm
NBC’s show Songland is a show dedicated to helping jump start the careers of the music industry’s future songwriters. The second season kicked off on April 13th with one of the biggest names in country music, Lady Antebellum, who had the opportunity to choose from four songs written by songwriters who submitted their original songs. The winning song entitled “Champagne Night” is a catchy, summer tune that is bound to be the perfect opener when the band is able to resume touring after the threat of Covid-19 has passed. Take a listen below but be warned – this song will stay in your head! Cheer’s to happier memories in the future with this hit!

Jake Owen Is Using This “Covid-19 Quarantine” To Focus On Being A Dad
Jake Owen, as all our favorite country artists right now, is spending his days inside during this quarantine. He is taking this time to really focus on being present with his family, specifically his daughter, Paris.

ACM Our Country: Closing
Salute to Kenny Rogers. Sadly, the iconic Kenny Rogers died on March 20th of this year. The show closed with Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker singing “You Picked A Fine Time To Leave Me Lucille” and “The Gambler”.
Luke Bryan chose to sing “Coward Of The County”.
The last word was by Lionel Richie. “I found one of the greatest friends of my whole life in Kenny Rogers. We lived so much life together and tonight I want to celebrate his life. I love you very much.” The program ended with a flashback from a performance at the 2012 ACM Award Show of their hit song together, “Lady”. To see the connection they shared on stage made it clear that they were brothers bound together by music and mutual respect.
What a show tonight – what a much needed source of encouragement, light, and of course, music. They opened the show stating that music had the power to heal, and tonight, I believe their mission was successful in bringing healing to many hearts.. including mine.
I hope you guys enjoyed the live response posting! Please let me know your thoughts if you watched tonight! Be careful and stay safe, y’all!
ACM Our Country: Florida Georgia Line
Before Florida Georgia Line’s performance of their newest single, “Blessings”, the program played a flashback from the previous 2017 ACM Awards Show where Florida Georgia Line surprised the crowd by bringing out the Backstreet Boys. I had totally forgot about that moment, but it was fun reliving it and seeing the reactions on the faces of Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood. For this special, Florida Georgia Line had their wives and children in the living room and sang a song that is a testament to what we all should be doing during this uncertain time: counting the blessings we DO have. It was one of the sweetest moments of the show.
ACM Our Country : Kane Brown and John Legend
Kane Brown and John Legend debuted a brand new song called “Last Time I Say Sorry”. I was shocked at how flawless their voices blended together and actually really complemented each other. The song was about trying to change and to stop hurting someone they loved. I absolutely plan on buying this single – it give me chills, which is not something that happens much!
ACM Our Country: Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan, sitting on a couch in his home in Sarasota, Florida, dedicated his song “Most People Are Good” to all the professionals in the medical field. This song lyrically is thought provoking, and the fact he chose to sing it during this time made it even more impactful. I thought he did a great job and I really enjoyed his performance.
ACM Our Country: Blake Shelton and Gwen Steffani
The famous power couple, Blake Shelton and Gwen Steffani, sang their new song “Nobody But You” on their farm in Oklahoma. I loved this song the first time I heard it, but hearing an acoustic version of it really allowed the lyrics to hit harder. Blake closed with “wes sluve you”, which was an accidental slip up at an attempt of saying “we love you”. He and Gwen both laughed, as did I!
