On March 20th, 2020, Kelsea Ballerini released her third album, titled simply “Kelsea”. Not only is this release self titled, but Kelsea also was a co-producer on this record.

According to Nash Country Daily, Kelsea stated : “I learned a lot [as co-producer]. I think on my first two albums, I was more of a student. I think I was learning more about musicality and being a musician. I hadn’t even played a full band show when I made my first album, so I think I had a lot to learn. But now, I trust myself a lot more. I’m more invested in this album. Not only did I write it all, but I was part of bringing it to life in the studio, too, which is the full journey of the songs.”

At 8:30 AM on Tuesday morning, February 11th, Thomas Rhett Atkins and his wife Lauren welcomed their third daughter into the world! Weighing in at 9 pounds and 2 ounces, Lennon Love Atkins is being nicknamed their “valentine baby” (as her birth is so close to Valentines Day). Thomas and Lauren have two other daughters: Willow Grey who is four and adopted from Uganda, and Ada James who is two.

Thomas Rhett Welcomes Third Daughter Into The World

I personally feel like Thomas Rhett and his wife have one of the sweetest love stories in all of country music right now. It is clear through Thomas’ music how much he adores his family, and I am looking forward to hearing the new songs he writes about their sweet addition, Lennon!

Until then, listen to “Life Changes”, written about his daughters Willow and Ada!

Tenille Townes Covers “Stupid Boy”

Tenille Townes has taken an original twist on the song “Stupid Boy” by Keith Urban. Originally sang from a male’s perspective, Tenille takes a unique turn lyrically and allows the listener to hear from the woman’s side of the story. She is able to do this by only slightly changing one of the lyrics from “it took a while for her to figure out she could run but when she did she was long gone” to “it took a while for ME to figure out I could run but when I did I was long gone”. However, the slight lyrical change adds a whole new meaning and hearing a female voice behind this iconic song adds such a different depth to it. I will always be a fan of the original because I feel like Keith Urban delivered it with such passion and intensity, but give Tenille’s version a listen and let me know who you think sang it better!

On Monday night, February the 11th, Keith Urban hosted his seventh annual “All For The Hall” benefit concert for the Country Music Hall of Fame. With an incredible lineup of artists including Keith Urban, Lauren Daigle, Blake Shelton, Tanya Tucker, Chris Stapleton and more of countries brightest stars right now, the theme this year was “Under the Influence”. While each artist was given the platform to sing one of their originals, they also got to pick and perform a song from an artist that helped shape who they are today. I think this was a brilliant idea and gave respect to those who walked the road before and helped mold the industry into what it is today.
